Modern 911 technology can make supplemental location and device information available to emergency communications centers. NMRECC uses available tools to support—not replace—the questions asked by trained telecommunicators.
Why we still ask for your location
Location data may be incomplete, delayed or different from where an emergency is actually taking place. Always tell the telecommunicator your location when asked, even if you believe your phone has already provided it.

Technology helps, but clear communication with the 911 telecommunicator remains essential.
